Pranayama Workshop
Pranayama calms and strengthens the mind and creates a feeling of inner peace. Different types of pranayama induce different states of awareness. Just as the many types of asanas need to be practiced in order to tone and sensitize the whole body, so also a variety of pranayamas are necessary for a complete experience. You will learn yoga breathing exercises to control prana (life force energy) and thus to control the state of mind.
Dhyana (Meditation) Workshop
Learn practical and theoretical techniques for focusing and stilling the mind.
Headstand Workshop*
This workshop will guide you gently and systematically through the headstand’s eight steps, focusing of the theory and practice of the headstand; while helping you to develop balance and overcome fear. Ideal for students having difficulties with this asana.
Inversion Workshop*
Practicing inversions is a great way to develop balance, strength and confidence. Teaching us how to stay calm and connected to our peaceful center amidst chaos. Focus on headstand, shoulder stand, forearm stand and handstands and their variations. Each is unique for your combination of strength, balance and flexibility.
Backbend Workshop*
Backbends are rejuvenating. Learn variations to open the chest and make the spine flexible, while the arms and shoulders become strong.
Yoga Philosophy Workshop
The Sanskrit word yoga is derived from the root yuj, which means to yoke. The yoga practitioner seeks to yoke his or her individual soul with cosmic consciousness. Yoga system is for the health of the body, control of the mind and attainment of inner peace.
Yoga is divided into eight limbs as described by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras. In this workshop, you’ll learn the philosophy of yoga and the practical and philosophical subjects, ranging from the place of yoga in daily life to insights from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras; putting spiritual principles into action.
Satsang Workshop
Satsang is a Sanskrit word combining "satya" meaning "truth" and "sangha" meaning "group. " It describes a gathering of people for the purpose of spiritual truth. Satsang consists of silent meditation, a talk or reading on aspects of yoga philosophy, inspiring words, discuss its teachings, ask questions, share discoveries and challenges, and find ways to bring this awareness into daily life.
* We will take these challenging postures and break each one down into manageable stages and modifications, using strengthening exercises, props, partner work and breathing techniques making them accessible to you in your daily practice! We address safety in each pose and you will learn the Flexibility needed in the poses and the strength and body alignment for the poses.
